Over the years, Alan Davis has received local, state, national, and international recognition for his photographic artistry. Just a few of the awards he has received at the annual convention of the Kentucky Professional Photographers Association include the Kodak Gallery Award, Fuji Masterpiece Award, Best Group Portrait, Best Bridal Portrait, Best Wedding Album, and Best Commercial Photograph. In 2005, Alan was awarded Photographer of the Year at the Mid-East States Regional Print Competition held in Dayton, Ohio. Davis is the first Kentucky Photographer since 1988 to be awarded this prestigious honor. The Photographer of the Year is awarded to the photographer with the highest total points scored from four entries. The recipient is acknowledged as being an excellent photographer and as having scored the highest of all prints entered. Over 650 prints were entered by photographers from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. In August, 1995, he was awarded the prestigious “Master of Photography” Degree from the Professional Photographers of America.

Alan and Saundra, his wife of over 30 years, are active in their church and enjoy spending time with their family: daughter Shauna, her husband Joey, and their 5 year old daughter Haleigh; and daughter Lauren, her husband Josh, and their son Seth.
